MOBILE – This week, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) visited Mobile, where he spoke to the Mobile Chamber of Commerce, inspected the I-10 Bridge, and toured the Port of Mobile.

Sen. Tuberville touted the economic growth the city is experiencing and its emergence on the world stage as a national leader in maritime and aviation innovation. Sen. Tuberville also spoke on the importance of finalizing contracts and completing the construction of the I-10 Bridge, which is the gateway between the East and the West, as quickly as possible. Additionally, Sen. Tuberville visited the Port of Mobile to meet with the new Alabama Port Authority CEO, Doug Otto, and to check out the ongoing massive modernization projects that will continue to allow the port to be one of the most versatile ports in the country. The Port of Mobile is the lifeblood of the Yellowhammer State, and Sen. Tuberville helped secure half a million dollars for the Alabama Port Authority to study sediment management in the latest appropriations bill to ensure smooth port operations without being affected by increased sediment buildup in the Mobile River.

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, HELP and Aging Committees.
