WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate HELP Subcommittee on Children and Families, today introduced Dr. Gordon Isbell III, to testify before the HELP Committee’s hearing titled, “Examining the Dental Care Crisis in America: How can we make Dental Care More Affordable and More Available?” Dr. Isbell is the President of Isbell Dental in Gadsden, AL where he has practiced general dentistry since 1981. He is also on staff at the Gadsden Regional Hospital and Riverview Regional Hospital.

Senator Tuberville’s introductory remarks about Dr. Isbell and his contributions to Alabama and the field of dentistry can be found below, or viewed on YouTube and Rumble

“Thank you, Ranking Member Cassidy. It’s my honor today to introduce Dr. Gordon Isbell from Gadsden, Alabama. Dr. Isbell went to Auburn University for his bachelor’s degree and then to UAB for his degree in dental medicine. Since 1981, he’s been serving the people of the Gadsden area through his practice, Isbell Dental. Over the years, Dr. Isbell has been very active with the Academy of General Dentistry, and he’s served in a variety of leadership roles with the organization both at the state and national level. He was also President of the Alabama Dental Association from 2017 to 2018.

Dr. Isbell has had a distinguished career full of honors and awards from entities across the state of Alabama and across the country. He’s spent years advocating for dentists, their patients, and their communities, and he’s managed to accomplish this all while raising five children with his wife, Cindy—who is by the way, an Alabama graduate.

Today, Dr. Isbell will bring an important perspective to this hearing – that of a practicing dentist in a community and state with many wide-ranging health care challenges. Dr. Isbell provides charitable care to his community through his involvement with Donated Dental Services, Mission of Mercies, and Regional Access Missions Programs.

He will speak to the efforts of private [practice] dentists across the country and their efforts to reach underserved populations. Dr. Isbell, thank you for being here.”
