WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria to discuss the increased Russian aggression toward Ukraine and the urgent need to implement strong economic sanctions on Russia.

On the situation between Ukraine and Russia:
“Flawed decisions lead to failed outcomes, Maria, and this administration’s had its share of them, starting with Afghanistan …”
“This is not our fight. This is the fight for Ukraine. They need to fight their own fight. The President [of Ukraine] even told me… ‘Coach, I don’t need people fighting for me from anywhere. We want to fight our own fight. Just give us some help.’ And that’s what we’re doing.”
On President Biden’s failed leadership:
“Our number one adversary is China, and all they [China] want to do is take our mind, or our eyes, off the ball. China’s in on this [Russian aggression against Ukraine]. You know they’re behind it. They’re pushing Putin. They’re just seeing how far we’ll go. This is just the start of something that we’re going to see for the next few years with President Biden and his administration that can’t make decisions the right way.”
On the Republican sanctions package:
“Well, Russia is a one-trick pony: they have energy, and they can sell energy to prop up their economy…”
“…President Trump tried to get Germany to back out of this [buying Russian energy]. They wouldn’t do it. We can’t get to them [Germany] to firmly say no more Nord Stream if they [Russia] come into Ukraine. All they’ve got to do is say that. President Biden has actually said that but right now we need to say: ‘there’s sanctions on the certification of the pipeline, as we speak; there are sanctions on the insurance companies on the pipeline, as we speak. You’re not going to be able to get it certified or insured. You’re not going to be able to prop it up. You’re not going to be able to send that oil.’… President Biden has actually said – and I couldn’t believe he said it – that there will be no more Nord Stream 2. I hope we can hold him to that.”
On Auburn Men’s Basketball Team’s Winning Season:
“Well, Bruce Pearl’s got a great basketball team and you know the kids play hard. It’s hard to be a number one team in the country… they got a good basketball team they made the final four a couple of years ago. Hopefully they can get back there and finish the deal.”
