ICYMI: Tuberville Joins Roundtable on Protecting Children and Women’s Sports

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined a roundtable led by U.S. Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) about the harmful impacts the Biden-Harris woke agenda is having on our nation’s children. Senator Tuberville specifically focused on his legislation to protect women’s sports and restore Title IX, The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act.

Senators Tuberville and Marshall were joined by U.S. Representative Mary Miller (R-IL-15), President of the American Principles Project Terry Schilling, Independent Women’s Voice Ambassador Paula Scanlan, and Senior Legal Fellow at the Heritage Foundation Sarah Parshall Perry.

“We all know by now that so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ is anything but caring. And the only thing it affirms is the left-wing worldview that a child—not their parents—knows best. It is pure insanity and has caused irreversible damage on countless children.

This isn’t about politics, folks. This is about good and evil at the end of the day. They’ve preyed on the minds of young Americans and misguided parents, confusing them. That is the Democrats’ aim here. They want to have gender versus gender adversity. It’s resulted in boys competing in girls’ sports, which is [absolute absurdity]. And men invading women’s locker rooms. I can’t believe it.

It’s resulted in the Biden-Harris administration’s complete rewrite of Title IX, destroying opportunities for women everywhere. You know, I’ve said it many times: Title IX is one of the best things to ever come out of this building in 50 years. It gave women opportunitiesI saw it firsthand as a high school coach when I first started coaching a long time ago. Because of Title IX, women and girls got access to the same resources, scholarships, and opportunities—and look at what we have today. We have built something that is unbelievableAnd then came this administration, which has done all it can to destroy it.

That’s why I introduced the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Acthere in the Senate, which would prevent schools from receiving federal funding if they let boys compete in women’s sports. Taxpayers do not want to foot the bill for an extremist policy that forces girls to compete against biological males.

The American people are sick of this nonsense. That’s […] one of the big reasons why people voted to send President Trump back to the White House. We’re just a few months out from sanity being restored in DC. Any doctor who performs a sex change on a child should be put in jail. Period.

I’m grateful that my home state of Alabama has led the charge on this—with our Attorney General who has been fighting it at every turn. So, thank you for being here today. Dr. Marshall, I look forward to working with you on this [for] many, many hours in the next few months to get common sense back in this country.”

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
