Tuberville: Revoke Visas of Hamas Sympathizers

Federal law prohibits supporters of terrorism or terrorist groups from entering the country

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) in calling on President Joe Biden to enforce existing law and revoke the visas of foreign nationals who endorse or espouse activity in support of Hamas or other Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO).

“Federal law bans terrorists or terrorist sympathizers from entering our country,” said Senator Tuberville. “Hamas is a terrorist group. Under the law, anyone who supports them should not be admitted into this country. That most certainly includes any students here on visas who are out protesting right now. If foreign nationals in our country support Hamas, then they should get the hell out and go to Gaza.”

Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Katie Britt (R-AL), Rick Scott (R-FL), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), J.D. Vance (R-OH), Ted Budd (R-NC), Pete Ricketts (R-NE), Ron Johnson (R-WI), John Cornyn (R-TX), and John Hoeven (R-ND) also joined the resolution.

Senator Rubio sought unanimous consent to the resolution on the Senate floor Wednesday afternoon but the motion was blocked by Democrat Senator Peter Welch (D-VT).

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans’ Affairs, and HELP Committees.
